The markets of Biarritz

Marché local
While Biarritz is known for its fine sandy beaches and legendary waves, this seaside resort also proudly showcases its Basque way of life.

Exploring Biarritz's markets remains a great way to discover the city through its flavors and lively atmosphere.

The Biarritz Market Hall: A Daily Destination for Food Lovers

Located on Place Sobradiel, a stone's throw from the Grande Plage, the Biarritz Market Hall is the beating heart of Biarritz's market scene.

Open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., you'll find fish, freshly caught seafood, cheese, Bayonne ham, and Basque cakes—enough to tantalize your taste buds!

Upstairs, a tasting area offers a shady spot to relax.

The outdoor market at Les Halles: textiles, home decor, and local producers

Around Les Halles, an outdoor market is held every day from April to October, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering clothing and home decor.

Don't miss the regional producers' market every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Neighborhood markets: Saint-Martin and Saint-Charles to experience Biarritz life

The Saint-Martin market on Wednesday mornings

Every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Saint-Martin food market sets up on Rue du Reptou.

You'll find fruits, vegetables, farm products, and some local specialties.

The vendors' good humor is contagious, and the atmosphere is friendly!

The Saint-Charles Market, a Friday Family Getaway

Every Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Saint-Charles food market takes place in the square of the same name.

You can buy fresh produce to put together a picnic that you can then enjoy overlooking the ocean.

Also, don't miss the art gatherings on the second Saturday of each month in Place Saint-Charles from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Village Iraty Creators' Market is also held every third Friday inside the Halle Darla from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Biarritz's Night Markets: Discover the City in a New Light

In the summer, Biarritz transforms after dark. Every Wednesday and Friday evening in July and August, from 7 p.m. to midnight, local artists and designers take over the Port des Pêcheurs (Fishermen's Port).

The atmosphere is particularly festive in the heart of these vibrant markets by the ocean.

On Tuesdays, the Docks Night Market takes over, on Rue Luis Mariano, from 7 pm to 11 pm.

There, you can find jewelry, ceramics, clothing, and souvenirs before enjoying a concert and some grilled food.
